Job Description :

The Distribution Center Human Resources Generalist is responsible for overseeing and executing a wide range of human resources functions to support the organization's goals and objectives. You will collaborate with department heads and senior management to develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and initiatives that align with the company's mission and values. Additionally, you will serve as a trusted advisor to employees, providing guidance and support on HR-related matters. The DC HR Generalist will play a critical role in building a positive work culture, driving employee involvement, and supporting change management efforts within the retail organization.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or grievances and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment and enhance employee morale.
  • Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection of candidates.
  • Develop and maintain effective sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including orientation programs and training sessions.
  • Identify training needs within the organization and develop training programs to address those needs.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Keep abreast of changes in labor laws and industry trends and update HR policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure HR practices are in line with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, payroll information, and benefits enrollment.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics for management review and decision-making.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • Multiple years experience in human resources roles, with a focus on employee relations, recruitment, and training.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and FLSA.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee must frequently use their hands to handle or feel objects and must be able to speak and hear clearly.
  • The employee may occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • The employee must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
