Overview & Responsibilities The Human Resources Manager will play a critical role in aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The Human Resources Manager serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues and acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, communicating proactively with the business units and the HR department. The Human Resources Manager seeks to develop integrated solutions and partners with the business to deliver value-added services that reflect the business objectives of the organization. Additionally, this position manages the coordination, administration, and oversight of labor relations, particularly concerning collective bargaining employees, and offers consultation and conflict resolution for company and union leaders, as well as employees. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a business partner role.
  • Experience in labor relations is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, policies, and employment laws.
  • Proven ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Experience with Workday and data analysis.
Business Partnership:
  • Act as a point of contact for managers and employees, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business leaders to drive HR strategies that support business goals.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
Talent Management:
  • Support talent management initiatives, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, and performance management.
  • Assist in the implementation of succession planning and employee development strategies.
  • Provide guidance on employee career progression and development opportunities.
Employee Relations:
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Advise on employee relations issues and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Labor Relations (Preferred):
  • Support the management of collective bargaining agreements and labor negotiations, when necessary.
  • Collaborate with union representatives and management to ensure a positive labor-management relationship.
Change Management:
  • Lead and support organizational change initiatives, including restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Develop communication plans and change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions.
Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Work with the legal department on risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in the development and administration of HR policies and procedures.
HR Strategy and Projects:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
