PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Human Resources Manager will utilize experience and expertise to work as an employee relations consultant, business partner and leader while communicating, educating and ensuring compliance with district goals, programs, regulations and processes.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Human Resources Generalists

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
  • Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Provides leadership, direction and expertise for the full scope of HR functions including employee relations, investigations, labor relations, employee compensation, employee engagement and organizational design and change.
  • Coaches and counsels employees regarding district policies and procedures, as well as collective bargaining agreements, relative to transfer, promotion, compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment.
  • Assists in the selection and retention of world-class talent.
  • Serves as an employee advocate who balances fair labor standards, district policy and practice, collective bargaining agreements, and district needs.
  • Provides support to district leadership with position analysis and job description development.
  • Provides support to district leadership with performance evaluation compliance in accordance with district policy and state mandates.
  • Develops training materials to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities.
  • Promotes a safe and positive work environment, while interpreting and enforcing laws, regulations and policies.
  • Provides competitive market research and prepares pay studies to help establish pay practices that help to recruit and retain superior staff.
  • Assists the Human Resources Department and/or building principal with special projects as assigned.
  • Handles general inquiries and communications in a professional and courteous manner; superior customer support.
  • WORK CALENDAR: 12 Months

    QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or related discipline desired. Master's degree preferred. Must be willing to work in the field up to 100 % of the time.

  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, manage conflicting priorities and effectively collaborate with leadership.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Computer literacy; including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and internet-based applications or portals.

    WORKING CONDITIONS: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
