OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Manager to join our growing distribution company. This is a stand-alone HR role, meaning you will have sole responsibility for supporting approximately 100 employees, overseeing all aspects of Human Resources. The HR Manager will manage the full spectrum of HR functions, including employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits administration, compliance, and payroll processing. This role is essential in fostering a positive and productive workplace while ensuring the company's HR practices align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

HR Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, including personnel files, I-9 forms, and EEO reporting.
  • Develop, update, and enforce company policies and employee handbooks.

Performance Management:

  • Guide managers through performance reviews and development plans.
  • Support professional growth initiatives and succession planning.

HR Strategy and Reporting:

  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on workforce planning and HR trends.
  • Prepare HR metrics and reports as needed.

Payroll Management:

  • Process and manage bi-weekly payroll for approximately 100 employees using [insert payroll system].
  • Ensure accuracy of timekeeping, deductions, and payroll taxes.
  • Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on HR-related issues.
  • Handle employee concerns, mediate disputes, and support managers in addressing performance or conduct issues.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives.

Benefits Administration:

  • Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, 401(k), and leave policies.
  • Educate employees on benefits options and assist with open enrollment processes.

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings for managers, coordinating interviewing, and hiring.
  • Develop effective onboarding programs to welcome and train new hires.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of HR generalist experience, including payroll processing.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, etc.) and HRIS platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, OSHA).
  • Experience in the distribution, logistics, or manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
