We are seeking an experienced and driven HR Manager to join our Walker team. This role is instrumental in shaping our people strategy and ensuring that our HR practices align with business objectives. The HR Manager will lead initiatives related to employee-owner engagement, talent acquisition, performance management, and compliance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partners with the HR and leadership teams to understand and execute the organization's HR and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provides support and guidance to management and employee-owners as it relates to company policies and employment laws/regulations.
  • Creates a positive employee-owner experience through internal communications, building relationships/trust with all employee-owners and celebrating wins.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
  • Oversees disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Leads new hire orientation, as needed.
  • Ensures accurate files and records, attendance, PTO hours, and benefits are maintained.
  • Communicates all personnel changes including hires, terms, transfers, rate changes, and bid sheets.
  • Prepares and maintains weekly and monthly reports, as required.
  • Reviews accident investigations and near misses.
  • Acting liaison between the union and company leadership.
  • Assists with conflict resolution for union employee-owners and investigates charges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Human Resources Manager or similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and content creation.
  • Union experience, preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Dayforce or other HRIS a plus.
  • Creative thinker with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
