Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team in Newark, New Jersey. Reporting directly to the Director of HR, you will oversee the full range of HR functions for our operations across the United States. This role focuses on aligning HR processes with business objectives, maintaining compliance with legal standards, and fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. You will play a key role in managing recruitment, employee relations, compliance, training, and performance management across multiple locations, ensuring efficient operations and employee engagement.

In this role, you will design and execute workforce planning strategies to meet staffing demands, particularly during the peak season when the workforce scales dramatically. You will oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle, from posting job openings to onboarding new hires, while collaborating with site managers to anticipate workforce needs. Building a compliant and supportive workplace will also be a priority as you address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and implement engagement initiatives that promote morale and retention.

Ensuring compliance with labor laws and OSHA regulations is a critical aspect of this position. You will oversee workers' compensation claims and support safety training initiatives to promote a culture of workplace safety. You will also drive the performance management process by coordinating appraisals, developing improvement plans, and managing disciplinary actions in alignment with company policies.

You will administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans, while exploring cost-effective options to enhance offerings. In collaboration with finance, you will ensure accurate payroll processing and recommend adjustments to compensation plans to remain competitive. Maintaining accurate HR records and analyzing data to track key metrics will also be essential, helping to inform strategic decisions at the corporate level.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, along with at least 8 years of HR management experience, preferably in logistics, manufacturing, or industrial settings. You should have a thorough understanding of federal and state labor laws, OSHA regulations, and experience managing HR in multi-location operations. Strong interpersonal skills, proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems, and SHRM certification are also preferred.

This position requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable in an industrial, blue-collar environment. The ability to balance empathy with firmness, address workforce challenges, and collaborate across teams is essential. Experience in logistics, manufacturing, or aviation industries will be highly advantageous.

Based in Newark, this role involves regular travel to multiple locations nationally. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment during peak seasons and the ability to respond to HR issues outside regular hours are essential. This is an opportunity to join a company with a family-like culture, focused on sustainability and operational excellence, where you can make a meaningful impact on HR practices and employee engagement.
