Work strategically and pro-actively with executive management to align operational needs with HR policies, guidelines, legal requirements, and best practices. Focus on employee relations investigations and conflict resolution, coaching management on legal compliance and HR procedures, recruiting strategy and metrics, efficient new hire on-boarding and integration, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all documentation and administration of employee data changes. May focus more heavily on one of the below areas, as opposed to another. May or may not supervise another HR Professional. In the absence of supervisory duties, the HR manager will serve as a resource for all HR related tasks for contract start-ups and shutdowns to ensure success.Primary DutiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   • Manage the recruiting functions for all positions including internal and external position postings, work with compensation team to ensure budget approval for new positions, obtain eligible compensation level, negotiate contract with local and staffing agencies for temporary staffing needs, ensure all steps in the interviewing and selection process for hiring are validated. Provide guidance to hiring managers in recruiting process.
  • Manage all aspects of aligned portfolio to ensure that employment practices are following all government and EEOC policies, procedures, and regulations. Provide direction and education to HR staff to developing department goals, and processes.
  • Educate managers on changes to existing policies and/or processes. Coordinate the completion of all necessary on-boarding and integration materials and documentation for all new hires, rehires, transfers, and promotion.
  • Run weekly report of HR list and rectify any identified error(s). Process all HRIS requests in WorkDay. Ensure compliance with AbilityOne, and Service Contract Act (SCA) regulations, Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and ServiceSource's policies, also ensure timely enrollment of benefits is completed by new hires within 30 days of hire.
  • Ensure timely termination of employees who have separated from the organization. Employee Relations: Provide focused level employee relations support, including complex issues such as layoffs, terminations, harassment or discrimination complaints, and employee performance improvement plans.Additional Responsibilities
    • Review/Approve all employee letters of offer, transfer, or promotion, including those hired and paid based on the Affirmative Action Plan for the organization.
    • Discuss non-WDR wage changes with Compensation. Supply all necessary documentation. Proof-read submissions for accuracy.
    • Verify terminations/changes are accurately entered in employee's profile. Provide local approval for requests for benefit programs, including tuition reimbursement, leave donation programs and submit them to the Benefit and/or Payroll department for final approval and processing.
    • Ensure current job descriptions are assigned on each employees record and updated as necessary and as notified by managers. Ensure affected employees receive new job descriptions once approved.
    • Ensure timely communication of training requirements for new hires, promotions, and transfers. Conduct training classes when requested. Lead routine and HR compliance audits for the site, or Regional Office.
    • Coach managers and leaders on the implications of transferring/promoting/demoting employees from one position to another, regarding wages, benefits, performance expectations, timelines, HRIS actions, and any costs that may result from such a decision.
    • Serve as Lead for resolution of complaints and grievances and conduct comprehensive investigations. Provide needed employee data on legal responses to charges and/or complaints. Brief and discuss all employee relations complaints and investigations with appropriate Regional Office or division executive management on a timely and ongoing basis. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all investigations and resulting conclusions. Communicate results to affected employees and managers. Note ongoing complaint trends and suggest policy changes or clarifications.
    • Lead the maintenance of confidential personnel files and benefits records in accordance with the organization's policies and HR laws.
    • Communicate ServiceSource's policies and procedures consistently, clearly, and objectively.
    • Maintain active communication lines with HR Team members. Draw on the strengths of other HR subject matter experts. Coordinate with other HR staff to provide full HR coverage during peak seasons or absences. Actively participate in special Human Resources projects as requested.
    • Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Education, Experience and Certification(s)
      • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related discipline and a minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in HR showing a progression to increased responsibility required. Four years of HR related work experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
      • Prior supervisory experience required.
      • Valid North Carolina driver license, per state law, and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel required. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR).Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
        • In depth knowledge of human resources laws and corresponding compliance requirements required including: FLSA, FMLA, SCA, COBRA, EEO/AAPs, ERISA, and HIPAA.
        • Ability to communicate in a confident, clear, and professional manner, verbally and in written communications.
        • Ability to inspire, coach, and lead a team.
        • Ability to conduct all work with high sense of confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism.
        • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
        • Ability to communicate with executives and senior leadership.
        • Strong computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office software, specifically Word and Excel.
