The Dermot Company, a New York and Florida based real estate developer and operator, is seeking a Human Resources Manager (HRM) to join the team! The HRM will own, lead and implement strategies to help Dermot recruit and retain a diverse and inclusive team in a way that realizes Dermot's business objectives. The ideal incumbent will have a successful track record in developing and driving HR initiatives, and will have served as an advisor to management.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
The HRM is responsible for directing the planning, development, implementation, and administration of the human resources functions including, but not limited to, the following: recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, learning and development, coaching, performance management and compliance. The HRM will engage with senior management to address and advise on critical and confidential employment matters.
Talent Acquisition, Development & Management
- Manage the end-to-end talent acquisition process, and build a diverse and robust talent pipeline
- Manage on- and off-boarding processes
- Lead the performance management cycle (i.e., timing, processes and tools)
- Provide coaching support to people managers as needed, to help them engage in effective performance management and development dialogue
- Assess learning needs of the organization and drive the learning, performance and development programs
Compensation, Benefits & HR Administration
- Serve as the point of contact for all employee relations matters
- Process all weekly, biweekly and semi-monthly pay schedules
- Conduct salary surveys, monitor compensation and performance association
- Administer all benefits for the group (in partnership with PEO and benefit advisors), including leading the open enrollment process
- Ensure accurate filings including but not limited to EEO-1, 5500, ACA, W2 and complete compliance testing as needed
- Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures, prepare and maintain employee handbook
- Establish and maintain department records and reports; implement new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
- Manage and build relationships with vendors and third party service providers
Culture & Employee Engagement
- Collaborate with the Culture Team on employee engagement matters
- Integrate DEIB into internal processes and procedures (e.g. training efforts, policies, procedures, etc.)
- Manage engagement surveys and follow up actions
People Projects
- Drive and coordinate cross-functional initiatives impacting the entire employee lifecycle and organizational framework, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with business objectives
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders and external partners on strategic technology implementations and special projects that enhance organizational effectiveness and employee experience
ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU OFFER
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Organizational Psychology or related field
- Interest or prior experience in the real estate or retail industry preferred
- A minimum of seven years related HR experience, at least three years in a management role
- Broad generalist background including talent acquisition, payroll, benefits and policies administration, coaching and counseling, performance management, and employee relations
- Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations, specifically in NY and FL
- Experience in implementing and administering performance programs, preferably in a company that put strong emphasis on performance metrics
- Must have demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining diverse employee talent, including creating and implementing recruitment strategies
- Exceptional project and personnel management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast and high-growth environment
- Proficiency in various technologies (Google suite, HRIS systems, etc.)
- Exhibit discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with all levels of the organization while providing an objective perspective
- Commitment to high quality work and service mindset

Our compensation and benefits package includes a competitive salary, commensurate with experience with bonus potential, comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision, paid time off and retirement with match when eligible and a flexible, hybrid work environment. The gross annualized base range for this position is 115,000-130,000 plus a semiannual discretionary bonus. The actual compensation within the range will be based on factors unique to each candidate including years and depth of experience.
