This position is required to have a caseload of residents for individual therapy as determined by the SPTP ACPD or SPTP CPD. This position will provide training/modeling to paraprofessional staff regarding positive interactions with resident and staff with the overall goal of increasing treatment effectiveness. This position serves as a member of the Treatment Team and as the Treatment Team Facilitator, when required. This position will participate in residents' treatment planning, assessments of risk, and provide clinical information to the Progress Review Panel regarding treatment recommendations and placements. In additional this position provides information for forensic evaluations and court testimony. This position is required to complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in treatment sessions. This position is also required to consult with the ACPD or CPD regarding any treatment concerns for residents.Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:Individual and Group Sessions and Crisis De-escalation:* Under direct clinical supervision of the SPTP ACPD, conducts individual and group psychotherapy sessions for an assigned group of resident in order to fulfill treatment goals for each resident.* These groups will include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Relapse Prevention and Good Lives as well as other manualized topics.* Will assist with crisis de-escalation with residents.* Will provide progress statements for annual court examinations and testify, as required.* Will complete timely documentation of all therapy sessions and contacts with residents.Treatment and Clinical Team Participation:* Incumbent will attend required treatment and clinical meetings.* Incumbent will be prepared for all meetings.* Will serve as Treatment Team Facilitator, when required.* Will be involved with Treatment Planning for residents.* Will provide information to the Progress Review Panel, as needed, when individuals on their caseload request to advance.Documentation and Reports:* Completes required documentation in resident's Electronic Medical Record.* Completes assessments and evaluations as assigned.* Compiles information for annual examinations, treatment planning sessions and Progress Review Panel and testify as required.Participation in Department Meetings and Hospital Wide Trainings and Activities:* Required attendance at mandatory training sessions, non-mandatory training sessions, and SPTP meetings* Will meet regularly with the supervisor to discuss treatment strategies and concerns for their caseloadOther Duties as Outlined by Supervisor:* Provide training for staff at LSH and SPTP* Maintain Licensure, as applicable* Assist with other tasks as needed or assignedQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:* Temporarily or permanently licensed in the State of Kansas at the Masters Level in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.* CPI Certification (provided on-site after hired)Preferred Qualifications:* Master's Degree in Psychology or related human service degree; licensed or license eligible in Kansas; and experience with the sexual offender population or inpatient population. Experience providing individual and group therapy; knowledge of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, or other therapy modalities.
