DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Human Services Program Executive 2 will administer, plan, organize, and direct the operations of the Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services' (BJJS) Juvenile Court Services Unit. You will analyze trends to ensure our services offer the appropriate placement of youth, address intake and diversion efforts, and follow proper discharge coordination. In addition, you will monitor all contracted service providers and provide outside agencies with technical assistance and guidance. Although work is performed with a high degree of independence, you will work collaboratively with the BJJS Director and with federal, state, and local agencies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • You will work at the BJJS worksite that is closest to your home. Possible work locations are available in Allegheny, Luzerne, Dauphin, Franklin, Huntingdon, Montour, Montgomery, Perry, and Philadelphia counties.
  • Overtime is as needed. Travel will be required.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, reporting to the office 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to your assigned headquarters office.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Human Services Program Executive 1 (Commonwealth title); or
  • Five years of professional experience in the development, implementation, or evaluation of a human services program or program operations, including three years of supervisory experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional supervisory experience in the development, implementation, or evaluation of a human services program or program operations.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
