SUMARY:
The HVAC Development Engineer Intern (May - Dec) will work with engineers and lab techs to run standard tests and document results. This area supports HVAC Design Validation test support and development. Ideally looking for someone to intern 2 semester or blocks of time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help evaluate customer specifications and establish component test plans with engineers and lab techs (HVAC module)
- Work with Test Lab Techs to run standard tests and document results
- Design special fixtures / brackets where needed to facilitate testing
- Run airflow test equipment as needed to evaluate HVAC module performance
- Conduct root cause investigation on test failures or performance concerns
- Support HVAC module builds as needed to help optimize design and assembly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently emnrolled at a 4 year university or college.
- Major in Mechanical Engineering) preferred.
- Previous internship desirted but not required..
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Familiarity with CAD (NX a plus), 3D printing, and other computer aided tools (CFD or FEA).
- Formal problem-solving training is helpful.
- Desired soft skills - communication, teamwork, problem solving, time management, critical thinking, decision making, organizational, and stress management.
- Good written and verbal communications. Sometimes we work independently or in small groups so it is good to be able to excel in either environment.
