Job DescriptionJob Title:HVAC Maintenance Technician IDepartment:MaintenanceLocation:Galt, IAReports To:Sr. Support Operations ManagerJob Type:Full-timeJob Summary:The HVAC Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role supports the organization's goals by contributing to the efficient operation of HVAC systems, which are vital to the overall production process and employee comfort.Essential Job Functions:

• Sustain and improve the Preventative Maintenance Program on all HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical HVAC equipment.
• Install, restore, maintain, and upgrade HVAC equipment.
• Control HVAC equipment downtime by performing routine maintenance and operations techniques.
• Install and troubleshoot PLCs and drives.
• Diagnose system control issues.
• Install HVAC wiring, motors, electrical panels, breakers, airlines, water lines, or gas lines as needed.
• Identify and correct the root cause of failures.
• Coordinate parts ordering and ensure critical parts are in stock.
• Ensure equipment is in safe and good working condition.
• Work closely with other departments to create an environment of one team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

• Technical skills in HVAC maintenance and repair.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with tools, software, and systems related to HVAC and PLCs.

Required Qualifications:

• HVAC Apprentice License or equivalent industry work experience.
• Ability to diagnose problems from the system control down through the system to the application point on the machine.
• Experience with operating, repairing, and troubleshooting large-scale electrical and mechanical HVAC equipment.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., twist and bend, walk and stand for long periods on different surfaces, and work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in industrial, commercial, or military systems maintenance.
• Experience in planning and project management.
• Advanced certifications in HVAC or related fields.

Work Environment:This position requires working in a physical setting that may include standing for long periods, exposure to various environmental conditions, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
