Key Responsibilities - The HVAC DX System Installer performs all phases for the complete installation of mini split systems, split systems, water source heat pump/exchangers, and rooftop air conditioning units in both new commercial construction and retrofit project capacities.
- Throughout the project, the HVAC DX System Installer will be relied on to take personal ownership of upholding the values for which we are known: quality, integrity, safety, and teamwork.
- Installs refrigerant piping using proper installation practices while adhering to all codes, regulations, laws, and best practices.
- Sets and/or mounts condensing units, air handlers, water source heat pumps, and oversees the placement of larger rooftop air conditioning units.
- Runs and installs low voltage control wiring thermostats and zone dampers.
- Demonstrates proficient skill independently within B&I standardized budgeted labor hours while communicating with customer in a professional manor the status of installation projects.
- Upon installation completion, performs system startup and checks to ensure proper operation.
- Purchases, maintains, and replaces required tools as designated for the HVAC DX System Installer.
Qualifications- Demonstrates a solid working knowledge of HAVC mechanical equipment and installation practices including, but not limited to, maintaining skillful use of piping activities and related tools and machines.
- Holds a minimum of a Type II EPA Certification.
- Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, schematics, and blueprints.
- Capability to evaluate information using measurable standards.
- Hold a current and valid Florida Driver's License.
- Possesses proficient written and verbal communication skills, detailed organizational skills, and accurately calculates construction/shop math.
- Ability to use software for calendars, planning, and workflow processes,
- Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction); use hands, fingers, arms and legs fully; lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; stand for long periods of time.
- Comply with all B&I safety procedures.
- Drug test, background check and a clean driving record are pre-employment requirements.
