Position Type: Maintenance & Operations Department/TechnicianDate Posted: 6/3/2024Location: Maintenance & Operations DepartmentDate Available: 06/03/2024 REPORTS TO:District EngineerAPPLICATION DEADLINE:Open Until FilledLENGTH OF WORK YEAR:261 DaysDATE REVISED:NOV 11, 2015WAGE/HOUR STATUS:Non-ExemptSALARY RANGE:$19.20 Minimum$27.35 MaximumPAY GRADE: AU5PRIMARY PURPOSE: The HVAC/Water Treatment Technician is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of all the district's HVAC refrigeration systems and chemical water treatment in HVAC systems. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate or GED required Associates degree in HVAC preferred Three years experience in HVAC preferred Experience in chill water systems and controls preferred Refrigerant Recovery Certification Able to read blueprints and schematics Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports chilled and hot water systems. Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the HVAC systems, which include maintaining filters, and coils, maintaining cooling towers, maintaining valves and control system for all district's HVAC units. Failure Root cause analysis and correction plans in HVAC systems. Efficiently optimize preventive maintenance programs. Monitor, maintain and provide recommendations to keep optimal chemical levels in open and closed HVAC water loops. Ensure proper chemical inventory is available per site and follow up on work orders. Replace A/C units as they breakdown. Reports any deviation from the normal operation of equipment to the HVAC Foreman. Responsible to successfully complete all work orders and to submit them to office staff. Responsible to keep logs of refrigerant used. Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others. Performs other related duties as assigned. EQUIPMENT USED: Power tools (drill, saw etc.), hand tools, pressure washer, district vehicle, high lifts, two-way radio, refrigerant recovery units WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress, frequent district travel, continuous walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying, exposure to extreme weather conditions, exposure to electrical and chemical hazards, workingin high places.
