STV has an immediate need in Morrisville, NC offices for a North Carolina Hydraulic Leader. The successful candidate will:
- Serve a Project Manager and/or Phase Manager for projects, phases, or tasks
- Establishing and/or maintain working relationships and interfacing with client technical staff and project managers
- Lead and participate in project development meetings with clients
- Check Storm Water Management Reports and plans for roadway, transit, rail, and culvert/bridge projects
- Perform quality control for hydrologic & hydraulic studies, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Mentor staff including technical and project managers
- Experience with project management, program management, green stormwater, and erosion and sediment control techniques
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement the growth strategy for the hydraulic team, including recruitment and retention efforts and filling out blank spaces
- Support project delivery through resource allocation and work planning
- Leading client management efforts and specific project pursuit
- Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction
- Candidate should possess knowledge and experience of NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT), municipalities, including local government design and permitting requirements
- Grow STV visibility in hydro-specific professional societies through engagement and leadership opportunities
- Using hydrologic and hydraulic software such as Geopak Drainage, StormCAD, and HEC-RAS modeling to develop and/or check work performed by technical staff
Required Skills, Certifications, Experience:
- The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering and (Civil, Biological, Agricultural, or another related discipline)
- A minimum of 15+ years of experience of Water Resources and Storm Water Design Engineering - design of storm drains, culverts, stormwater management, BMPs, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and Floodplain studies, and cost estimating
- NC PE license is required
