City of Sandy Springs, GeorgiaICE RINK TICKET SALES SUPERVISORSANDY SPRINGS PERFORMING ARTS CENTERCITY SPRINGSFLSA:Non-ExemptPurpose of Classification:The City of Sandy Springs is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Seasonal Part-Time Ice Rink Shift Supervisor to join our team during the winter season. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our ice rink visitors. This position requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a passion for customer serviceDates: November 15 - January 20 is our ice rink season. Some required availability over the holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.Essential Functions:The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.Responsibilities:* Supervise and lead a team of ice rink and ticket attendants during assigned shifts.* Ensure the ice rink is prepared and maintained to a high standard of safety and cleanliness.* Assists with ice rink opening and closing procedures, including scraping and resurfacing ice (no prior experience needed), moving rink-side equipment into place, preparing skates for use. Monitor ice rink activities and enforce safety rules to ensure the well-being of all visitors.* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting patrons as needed.* Handle online reservations and in-person transactions for admissions, skate rentals, and maintain accurate records.* Train and mentor ice rink attendants on best practices and customer service protocols.* Coordinate with the Venue Operations Manager to maintain inventory levels of equipment and supplies.* Monitor ice rink capacity and enforce capacity restrictions during peak hours.* Collaborate with Director of Operations and Venue Operations Manager to address any ice rink equipment issues or maintenance needs.* Conduct routine inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.* Provide support during special events, including setup, crowd management, and event coordination.* Safely operate the ice resurfacer (training provided).* Performs skate sharpening duties that comply with all related safety requirements (training provided).* Handle any emergencies or incidents that may arise and follow the appropriate protocols.Physical Requirements:* Must be able to lift 45 pounds.* Requires climbing, reaching, bending, pulling, and lifting.* Some work is done on a slippery surface and varying environments, including cold temperatures.Minimum Qualifications:* High school diploma or equivalent.* Available nights, weekends, and some holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and New Years Day. *Select holidays are paid time and a half* Previous experience in ice rink operations, customer service, or a related field is preferred.* Strong leadership and communication skills.* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.* Basic knowledge of ice rink safety rules and protocols.* Basic math skills.* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.* Ability to work in cold temperatures for extended periods.* Skating experience is a plus.Performance Aptitudes:Data Utilization: Requires the ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data. Tasks may involve balancing, bending, climbing, crouching, handling, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, stooping, walking, and extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Some work is done on a slippery surface.Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed with exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
