Job DescriptionOur organization is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom designed to support students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, develop comprehensive education plans, and create a structured and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.Duties:

• Plan and Implement Classroom Instruction.
• Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Regularly assess and track student progress toward IEP goals.
• Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to manage classroom behavior.
• Adapt the general curriculum to meet the individual needs of students in the self-contained classroom.
• Teach core subjects, including literacy, math, and life skills, using specialized strategies to support students' academic growth.

Requirements

• Have an Illinois PEL with special education (LSB1) endorsement
• Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role
• At least a bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required
• Prior experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities
