Description

The Import/Export Coordinator supports all aspects of a freight forwarding operation to include efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods (via shipping lines, airlines, road) while ensuring that the best interest of the client is managed. The Import/Export Coordinator will assist and report to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

Assist the operations in managing import/export documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable Federal Regulations.

As you grow with our company you will be exposed to and will learn how to:

  • Manage inbound and outbound international shipments by coordinating with involved parties, including overseas agents, truckers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, etc.
  • Prepare, review and process import/export documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable international trade laws, regulations, and tariffs.
  • Proactively maintain communication with all parties involved, especially with clients on the status of their shipments.
  • Handle multiple, competing priorities, meet deadlines, manage risk, and deal with problems.
  • Provide weekend and holiday support for operations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required, Associate's degree or pursuit of Bachelor's Degree in related field (business, supply chain/logistics, operations) a plus.
  • Freight forwarding experience preferred but will train.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Cargo Wise experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide assistance, when necessary, under reasonable pressure.
  • A detail-oriented approach to work is essential, with accurate data entry skills.

*This is an on site position with opportunity for some remote after training, however we cannot offer any relocation assistance. Office is located in Audubon NJ.*
