Job Title: Import/Export Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Import/Export Manager to lead and manage our Routing Department, overseeing shipments of foreign origin. The department consists of a team of five employees, and the successful candidate will take on a leadership role, driving efficiency, organization, and process improvements to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding, with expertise in managing ocean and air freight operations. A hands-on approach to leadership and the ability to implement and refine processes are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Routing Department, including coordinating shipments of foreign origin
• Supervise, guide, and develop a team of five employees, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
• Develop and implement processes to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction
• Oversee all aspects of ocean and air freight, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards
• Handle vendor and carrier relationships, negotiating rates and service terms
• Monitor department performance and make data-driven decisions to enhance operations
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise with shipments or team operations

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in freight forwarding, with expertise in both ocean and air freight operations
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to implement effective processes and ensure continuous improvement
• Solid understanding of import/export regulations and compliance
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation:

Salary in the $80K range, based on experience.
