Position Summary:

The Manager Import Logistics is an individual contributor position within the Supply Chain organization. The ideal candidate will be an expert in implementing import logistics initiatives and transformations. Your responsibilities will include driving for KPI goals, eliminating inefficiencies, and streamlining processes to leverage data for decision-making. This role involves driving business value and assisting teams in achieving company and department objectives. The successful candidate will be passionate about innovation and technology, with a practical focus on executing and delivering solutions to the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and coordinate with business units, Engineering, Sourcing, and Planning teams, as well as management, by providing insightful analytics to support business decisions.
  • Optimize production flows and the supply chain network, reducing cycle times and improving yields.
  • Demonstrate a good track record in optimizing supply chain networks and capacity models, resulting in higher throughput and shorter cycle times.
  • Provide hands-on status updates to management.
  • Serve as the key business partner to provide financial recommendations on cost drivers, capacity utilization, margins, and other metrics.
  • Develop operational metrics and insights to provide guidance to operations, drive budgeting, business decisions, and KPIs.
  • Deliver significant supply chain savings by utilizing optimization methodologies for network redesign and inventory optimization.
  • Coordinate and oversee the transportation of goods into the country.
  • Ensure compliance with import regulations and customs documentation.
  • Communicate with shipping companies and customs officials.
  • Manage inventory levels and warehouse logistics.
  • Optimize import processes for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Resolve any issues that arise during the import process.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualification/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or significant import logistics experience
  • Deep knowledge of supply chain concepts and algorithms.
  • Ability to build and manage a team to support cross-functional teams in implementing supply chain solutions.
  • Ability to develop cross-functional relationships with sales, supply chain, demand planning, and business units.
  • 5+ years of related supply chain management, systems implementation, supply chain consulting, or equivalent experience driving supply chain transformations.
  • Experience with web-based and ERP systems
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to build and validate statistical models.
  • Experience in ocean container operations from Asia to North America and drayage with multiple ports.
  • Supply chain/transportation experience with Mexico factories, US Customs, customs brokerage management, and international air freight forwarding.
  • Experience with domestic transportation
