Role PurposeResponsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of our import operations.

This includes coordinating with suppliers, managing documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading a team of import specialists to ensure efficient and timely import processes. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to create a positive environment, resulting in team members having meaningful work. The ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment is required.

Reporting StructureThis role will report to the Operations Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesSpecific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and mentor a team of import specialists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high levels of service and accuracy.
  • Oversee the entire import process from start to finish, including coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships working with all stakeholders (Suppliers, International Agents, Carriers, Clients) in the supply chain for a successful outcome to meet client expectations.
  • Ability to negotiate well.
  • Perform file audits, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to import operations, analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Review and optimize import processes to enhance efficiency, identify potential risks, reduce costs, and improve overall operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure alignment and integration of import activities with overall business objectives.

Education and Experience

  • Two years' experience in leading an import or brokerage team. 3-5 years' experience in brokerage or freight forwarding role.
  • Working knowledge of CargoWise One logistics software is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
