About the Role: Qualified candidates must have at least 5+ years of experience as an Industrial Electrician. Must also help troubleshoot mechanical PLC and electrical faults, install/upgrade lighting, install electrical infrastructure for new projects, and assist the maintenance team with preventative maintenance measures (conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, etc). Experience with low-voltage and medium-voltage systems is a must.
- The pay range is $40.00 - $50.00 per hour depending on experience
- Hours: 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Monday – Friday with overtime as required including weekends and holidays. Initially, the schedule will be on a 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for training (approximately one month) then it moves to the 2nd shift
- This is a Non-Union position
Responsibilities:
- Performs work individually under limited supervision or in a team environment
- Performs work by standard operating procedures and from complex instructions and procedures
- Undertake routine maintenance of relevant plant and equipment by scheduled requirements in a safe and efficient manner
- Undertake fault finding to identify the root cause of a mechanical or electrical issue and implement measures to solve this issue safely and effectively
- Operates lifting equipment incidental to the work
- Performs non-trade tasks incidental to the work
- Able to inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards
- Participate in any major shutdowns to ensure tasks are performed safely and efficiently as required
- Participate in any plant/equipment installation and commissioning process as required
- Follow safe work practices including but not limited to lock out/tag out and isolation techniques
- Understands and implements quality control techniques
- Provides trade guidance and assistance as part of a work team
- Follow safe work practices including but not limited to lock out/tag out and isolation techniques
- Demonstrate personal responsibility for all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies, procedures, and initiatives
- Support diversity and inclusion, positive employee relations, and teamwork
- Support measures to effectively manage costs and adherence to budgetary requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality requirements
- Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives relevant to the job
- Support training and performance-management initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate degree; advanced diploma; Level 4 award, certificate, or diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
- Trade qualification, higher apprenticeship, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three to four years of relevant experience
- Three years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment
Required Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a broad range of individuals at multiple levels and to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to follow proper safety protocols
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent attendance record
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Ability to adapt to change, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to drive mobile plant equipment may be required
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and tools (up to 40 lbs).
- Ability to work in extreme cold/heat and regular exposure to heat, cold, and wet weather conditions
- Must be comfortable with heights, confined spaces, and working in varying weather conditions.
Pay range and compensation package: Pay range $40 - $50 per hour DOE
