Education & Experience

• Degree: Bachelor's in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related field).
• Industry Experience:
• 2+ years in logistics and supply chain management.
• Expertise in freight optimization: mode selection, packaging/truck densities, frequency, and return ratios.
• 2+ years working with packaging concepts and design.
• Comprehensive experience with automotive component systems: body, trim, chassis, powertrain, interior, and electrical systems.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and CAD viewers at an advanced level.
• AutoCAD expertise with 4+ years of practical application.

Skills & Attributes:

• In-depth knowledge of lean methodologies (5S, Kanban, Visual Factory, TPM).
• Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in high-pressure situations.
• A passion for process improvement and operational efficiency.

What You Will Do:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement industrial engineering policies that enhance performance, reduce waste, and lower costs.
• Conduct time studies and optimize production methods, equipment layouts, and resource utilization.
• Support cost estimation efforts by providing data and validating assumptions for projects, including process costs, square footage needs, and capital/tooling investments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate suppliers and integrate new technologies.
• Act as the key liaison for engineering-related communications with customers and internal teams, including technical presentations, design reviews, and feasibility studies.

Facility Optimization & Analysis:

• Design and implement initial (pre-SOP) facility plans, including layouts, material flow analyses, and inventory optimization.
• Conduct broadcast analysis, throughput studies, and simulations using tools like ProModel to streamline operations.
• Drive dock-to-dock understanding of facility operations to meet customer delivery requirements.

Continuous Improvement:

• Lead lean initiatives to improve efficiency and implement best practices across the organization.
• Benchmark industry trends and incorporate innovative practices into operational standards.
• Resolve site-specific issues with proactive problem-solving and crisis management support.

Packaging Optimization:

• Partner with packaging engineers to create designs that enhance labor efficiency, ergonomics, plant layout, and freight optimization.
