Job Type Full-timeDescriptionIndustrial Engineering ManagerYanmar Compact Equipment North America designs, manufactures and supports a complete range of compact equipment including compact track loaders, mini excavators, wheel loaders and construction equipment for use in such markets as construction, landscaping, utility, land management and agriculture. The products are sold primarily through a third party, independent dealer network.OVERVIEW:Reporting to the Plant Director, the Industrial Engineering Manager will support in planning, designing, implementing and managing integrated production systems that assure performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence and cost control. RESPONSIBILITIES:•Leads and sustains a dedicated, capable, and engaged team through development and strict adherence to our core values: Safety, Quality, Teamwork, Integrity, and Customer Satisfaction. •Analyzes work force and equipment utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow, and production schedules, to determine safe and efficient utilization and optimization of space and equipment. •Manage plant layout updates and assist with studies in operations to maximize workflow and spatial utilization. •Identify technology solutions to improve manufacturing productivity and throughput.•Provide leadership and support to continuous improvement initiatives including work studies, developing standards, improvements to existing systems, functional layouts that minimize space, material transit, distance and provide flexibility for expansion. •Research, justify and recommend the purchase of capital expenditures. •Prepares resource estimates (time, cost, staffing) for proposed projects and coordinates layout and workstation move activities. •Work with operation manage to improve productivity, quality, and throughput. •Conduct regular continuous improvement meetings with multiple departments. Document cost saving improvements for management review. •Maintain manufacturing process documentation including but not limited to picklists and work instructions. •Develop, report and analyze key performance metrics. •Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning company policies with health and safety regulations. •May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:Education and/or Experience: •Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related discipline.•5+ years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.•3+ years in an engineering or manufacturing leadership role with supervisory responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: •Analytical, problem solving, project management, facilitation, and decision-making skills are essential.•Proven ability to create and execute project plans.•Experienced in Lean Manufacturing and proficient in 5S, kaizen, and value stream mapping. •Previous Lean deployment experience preferred. •Ability to lead value stream mapping exercises to identify and document improvement opportunities. •Quality control background including problem solving and root cause analysis. •Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate others, resolve conflict, encourage teamwork, and manage employee performance. •Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills.•Must be able to work under minimal direct supervision and be willing to take initiative to resolve problems and drive continuous improvement. •Ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside and outside of the organization.•Self-starter, able to work with or lead cross-functional teams.•Must possess a high degree of professionalism, adaptability and strong customer service skills including a high level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality. •Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities at the same time. •Ability to travel domestically and internationally.The above Job Description is not intended to be an all-encompassing list of responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with this position.
