We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Hygienist to join our team. The Industrial Hygienist will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating workplace hazards to ensure employee safety and regulatory compliance. This role involves conducting risk assessments, implementing health and safety programs, and providing training to foster a safe and healthy working environment. Key Responsibilities: Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment:
- Conduct workplace inspections to identify potential physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic hazards.
- Evaluate exposure risks to employees using industrial hygiene principles, tools, and techniques.
Monitoring and Sampling:
- Perform air, noise, and surface sampling to assess exposure to harmful agents.
- Utilize specialized equipment to monitor environmental conditions and contaminants.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, and other local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, monitoring results, and corrective actions.
Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement exposure control plans and health programs, including respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and hazard communication.
- Collaborate with management to create policies and procedures to improve workplace health.
Training and Education:
- Provide training for employees on health and safety best practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Educate staff on recognizing workplace hazards and proper safety protocols.
Incident Investigation:
- Investigate workplace incidents involving hazardous exposures and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed reports and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field. Certifications:
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
- Additional certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP, or CHMM) are a plus.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in industrial hygiene, workplace safety, or a related field.
- Proven knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and practices.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with industrial hygiene equipment and software tools.
