ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works in the plant in support of the maintenance department.
• Responsible for hands on maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of hand tools, such as pneumatic or electric reciprocating saws and nail guns.
• Conducts regular parts and tools inventory, submits purchase requisitions for supply needs.
• Follows manager's direction of the duties to be performed.
• Generally, does not operate power tools such as saws and nail guns, but may be required to fill in for tool operators based on manager's direction.
• Operators must be able to repeatedly lift a pallet weighing 50‐75 lbs.
• Work requires operator to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• The Utility Tech will adhere to all health and safety policies and directives and maintain a clean safe work area.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• The Utility Tech must have physical strength, hand‐eye coordination, and endurance.
• Mechanically inclined – Knowledge of and demonstrable ability to use common mechanics tools.
• Tech must also be able to concentrate on their tasks.
• The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential.
• Ability to use and navigate MS office and internet applications.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or its equivalent.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• 2+ years previous experience working in an industrial, fast moving setting with industrial machinery
