JOB TITLE: Industrial Maintenance Technician

We are a fast-growing company specializing in coating, laminating, and converting materials (foam and non-wovens) to produce cargo-securement systems. We seek a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team to ensure the seamless operation of our advanced equipment and production processes.

JOB TITLE: Industrial Maintenance Technician.

DEPARTMENT: Production

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment within our coating, laminating, and converting production lines. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and control systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on coating, laminating, and converting equipment, including motors, pumps, conveyors, and rollers.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Work with OEM Technical Support to troubleshoot and test Control Systems (VFDs, PLCs)
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve equipment issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including logs, reports, and inventory of spare parts. Experience with MaintainX, or other comparable maintenance tracking software is a plus.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA/safety protocols and regulations while performing all maintenance activities.
  • Participate in equipment installation, testing, and commissioning for new or upgraded machinery.
  • Experience with ISO standards is a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call shifts as needed.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Technical High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in coating, laminating, or converting operations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, experience with pumps, conveyors, bearings, rollers, and related equipment.
  • Proficiency in electrical systems, including 3-phase power, wiring, sensors, and control panels. (230-480v 3ph, 120v AC, 24v DC)
  • Knowledge of PLC functions for troubleshooting. Basic programming experience is a plus (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
  • Knowledge of VFD operation, setup, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, and general fabrication skills.
  • Knowledge of boilers and steam systems, air compressors, forklift/PIT maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Servant leadership and team-first mindset.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Periods of standing/walking/sitting.
  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional varying environmental temperature changes.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in environments that may involve noise, heat, or confined spaces.
