Job Title: Manufacturing Maintenance Technician
Overview: The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient completion of all service requests related to facility and production equipment. This role plays a critical part in meeting customer on-time product delivery expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain production equipment, HVAC systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and resolve errors before equipment or products are damaged.
- Disassemble equipment to repair or replace parts as needed.
- Utilize electrical, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics knowledge to repair complex machinery.
- Conduct tests on machinery post-repair to ensure smooth and accurate operation.
- Perform equipment tear downs, rebuilds, and routine preventive maintenance.
- Assist in training and developing Maintenance Technician I employees.
- Work flexible hours, including overtime, in response to production demands.
- Follow and enforce Health, Safety, and Quality policies, including the use of PPE.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment in a certification program related to maintenance, mechanics, or electrical disciplines.
- 3+ years of related experience or training.
- Forklift certification.
- Self-motivated, reliable with a strong attendance record.
- Proficiency with basic computer operations and maintenance management systems.
- Ability to safely operate and use standard shop equipment.
- Understanding of continuous improvement, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completed or in-progress technical certification in maintenance, mechanics, or electrical disciplines.
- Knowledge or experience in blow molding, injection molding, or extrusion molding.
- Experience in processing or troubleshooting plastics manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, and electronics.
Skills & Abilities:
- Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across various levels of the organization.
- Adaptability in managing priorities and handling crises professionally.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and ladder logic.
- Capable of training Maintenance Mechanic I personnel.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, and communicate effectively.
- Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Occasionally required to sit and use taste or smell senses.
- Must be able to regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift/move over 100 lbs.
- Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
- Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, heights, toxic chemicals, and outdoor environments.
- Noise levels in the work environment are typically loud.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33.00 - $45.00 per hour
