The Browning Service and Distribution Center, located in Arnold, Missouri, is searching for a full-time proactive and skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of industrial systems and equipment, ensuring smooth operations, and minimizing downtime. This includes conducting inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to maintenance requests. You will also collaborate with external contractors when specialized expertise is needed. Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Inspection & Troubleshooting:
- Inspect equipment, systems, and machinery to identify potential problems or issues, ensuring early detection and timely resolution.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and building plans to determine the best approach for addressing system or equipment issues.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other systems operate correctly and efficiently.
- Ensure that all required inspections are completed on schedule and in compliance with industry regulations.
- Contractor Coordination:
- When specialized repairs are needed, coordinate with outside contractors for additional services or expertise.
- Maintenance Requests:
- Respond promptly to all submitted maintenance requests, prioritize tasks based on urgency, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain the inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and parts, placing orders as needed to ensure the availability of critical resources.
- System Inspections:
- Perform weekly and monthly inspections of sprinkler systems, documenting inspections and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Inspect fire extinguishers monthly, sign inspection tags, and ensure that any necessary actions are taken.
- Other Duties:
- Perform additional maintenance tasks as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the facility.
Requirements
- Education:
- Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in industrial maintenance.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and address issues.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in an industrial environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of using computer systems effectively, including Microsoft Office and internet tools, to manage tasks such as ordering parts, coordinating with contractors, and logging maintenance activities.
- Ability to use the internet to search for parts, place orders, and contact suppliers to ensure necessary materials are available.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Certification or formal training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or industrial systems.
- Knowledge of fire safety systems and inspection procedures is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform manual labor.
- Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, and varying temperatures.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts, weekends, or overtime if necessary.
