Responsible for preparing parts and equipment for paint including removing previously applied paint, cleaning, and degreasing, smoothing surfaces, and protecting unpainted surfaces by masking. These duties require strong attention to detail to adequately prepare the trucks for the next stage in the high-quality manufacturing process.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Wash, clean, and wipe down vehicles to be paintedRemove and replace all components as required for painting and sandingMask, paper, or grease components when appropriateOperate necessary equipment (dual action hand sander, electric lifts, etc.)Use basic hand tools and other small power tools associated with equipment and prep work prior to painting operationsPerform minor bodywork and maintain condition of vehicle or component through the entire paint processTrain and work in various areas of production in response to production demandsIdentification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of materialsFollow verbal and written work instructionsAttention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standardsMaintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsRegular attendance requiredAll other duties and responsibilities that are assignedParticipate in onboarding training and annual training related to being a hazardous waste handler as required by the EPA RCRA hazardous waste rules.
