Position Title: Bilingual Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant

Reports To: Director, Four Rivers Early Learning and Parenting Hub

Work Year: 190 days (Full-Time Equivalent)Salary: $70K + DOE, Full Benefits

About the Role: As a Bilingual Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, you will serve as a vital partner to childcare providers, teachers and parents throughout the Columbia Gorge and surrounding region. Your expertise will support young children's emotional and social development and focus on reducing suspension and expulsion rates. You'll lead the charge with strategic, hands-on guidance that champions equity, anti-bias, and anti-racist practices across childcare settings. Driving to various childcare facilities in the region is required.

Your Responsibilities: Collaborate with childcare providers and families to create & sustain positive developmental outcomes for children.Develop and implement strategies to address challenging behaviors and emotional concerns.Offer expert advice on equity, trauma-informed care, and self-care practices.Conduct engaging, impactful training sessions for childcare providers.Build trusting relationships while connecting children and families to additional support services when needed.

Education and Experience: With a Master's Degree in Mental Health: 1-2 years of experience in relevant mental health fields and a willingness to earn the specialized Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Endorsement (if not already Endorsed) within 2 years.

OR

Without a Master's Degree: 2+ years in a related field (early learning), specialized Endorsement*certification, and 20+ hours of focused mental health training.*Endorsement refers to certification in Infant or Early Childhood Mental Health.

Other Key Requirements:

Bilingual Skills: Fluent in both English and Spanish.Strong Foundations: Training or knowledge in topics such as trauma, attachment, special needs,and emotional wellness.Character & Commitment: Ability to connect with diverse groups, prioritize inclusion, and maintain trust across communities.
