Job DescriptionInfant Nanny Needed In Fairfax, VA A family in Fairfax, Virginia is seeking a loving, experienced nanny for their infant son. This position would begin immediately and the role is a temporary placement, expected to last at least until the end of March, with the potential for extension. The working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekend availability occasionally requested.The family also has a 2-year-old son, who is typically in full-time daycare during the week. There may be occasional times when the nanny will be asked to care for him as well, but 99% of the time care will be for infant son. .Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional care and full engagement with the infant throughout the day.
- Follow and adhere to a daily schedule directed by the parents, ensuring the child's needs are met with tenderness and consistency.
- Create a safe, loving, and enriching environment for the child, ensuring safety at all times and addressing basic needs such as toileting, resting, and feeding.
- Prepare meals and bottles as required, with a special focus on food allergies.
- Take the child on walks and engage in age-appropriate outdoor activities.
- Communicate regularly with the parents regarding the infant's activities, well-being, and any health-related concerns (e.g., illness or injury).
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and surrounding areas after use.
- Foster interactive development through conversation, reading, play, singing, and dancing. No screen-time is allowed.
- Be flexible with weekend hours if needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience with infants and toddlers, with at least 2-3 references or letters of recommendation from previous employers.
- Ability to commit to the position at least until the end of March.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Clean criminal and driving record.
- CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain certification.
- Ability to work independently while a parent is teleworking during the day.
- Safety-conscious with the ability to use sound judgment in caregiving.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to the family's needs, including potential weekend availability.
- Short nails (for safe handling of the infant) and a willingness to wash hands upon arrival to maintain hygiene.
- Willing to wear a mask if needed to prevent the spread of germs.
