Duties involve monitoring hospital procedures to isolate and control incidences of infection, and correcting and instructing medical and services staff in the prevention and avoidance of sources of infection. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Nursing Administrator or other higher-level staff member with wide latitude allowed for independent judgment and decision making.
