Job Title : Infection Preventionist

General Description:

Monitor and track infections within the facility, identifying trends and outbreaks.

This involves reviewing patient charts, lab results, and infection reports.

Collect data on infection rates, report findings to healthcare teams, and communicate outbreaks to local public health authorities as necessary.

Develop, review, and update infection control policies and procedures based on evidence-based guidelines and current regulations.

Conduct regular assessments to identify infection risks and areas for improvement in infection prevention practices.

Education:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Epidemiology, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Nursing or a related discipline.

OR

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Epidemiology, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Nursing or a related discipline.

Certifications & Licenses:

Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
