Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Information Desk Receptionist will greet and guide patients and visitors via phone and in person. The receptionist is expected to have exceptional interpersonal skills, a dedication to customer service, and be able to welcome every person in a warm, caring, and professional manner. This position will work Monday through Friday with a rotating Saturday schedule. May include weekends, evenings, and Holidays. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supports and promotes an environment conducive with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital.
  • Greets patients and visitors in a warm, caring, and professional manner.
  • Escort patients and visitors to an appropriate location in hospital when necessary.
  • Utilizes computer to determine patient locations for directing visitors to appropriate patient room.
  • Ability to register patients.
  • Function as the switchboard operator; answers facility phone calls and transfers appropriately.
  • Maintain orderly condition of assigned work area.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patients, hospital, and physician related information
  • Is knowledgeable of general hospital and department specific policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned and are subject to change with or without prior notice.

  • Maintain knowledge and skills necessary to communicate and interact with patients, visitors, and staff in the following age groups: Infant, Pediatric/adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric

  • Ability to concentrate while multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good mental health and emotional maturity
  • Maintain appearance appropriate for job duties.

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Required proficiency in general clerical office duties, i.e., computer keyboarding, and average typing skills.
  • Excellent customer services skills required.
  • Previous experience as receptionist or secretary is preferred.

  • Prolonged, extensive, or considerable sitting
  • Constantly required to use arms, hands, and fingers for repetitive movement - typing, and occasional grasping, pulling, and pushing
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is sedentary.
  • Duties are performed within comfortable climate-controlled surroundings.

  • Daily contact with patients, visitors, other hospital staff and physicians
