Black, Indigenous, People of Color, veterans, and those with diverse abilities are encouraged to apply.Job/Department Summary:Under general direction of the Information Security Officer, the Information Security Analyst researches, develops, implements, and maintains security systems to ensure protection of University systems and the confidential information in the custody of the University. The incumbent will participate in risk assessments and technical audits to identify potential risks and help design protections against identified risks. The Information Security Analyst works collaboratively with technical and non-technical members of the University community to review business processes, implement security policies, document procedures, and design best practices related for the protection of sensitive information assets. The incumbent will assist with incident responses, investigations, and reporting. The incumbent will advise departments on institutional policies, regulatory compliance, and security best practices, providing training as necessary. The incumbent will assist with the maintenance and expansion of the security awareness and training program, providing frequent training sessions. The Information Security Analyst contributes to the development, implementation, and maintenance of security standards, practices, and procedures.Required Education and Experience:Requires the equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in management information systems, business information systems, or related discipline. ANDTwo years of full-time information technology experience.Preferences:Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
- Bilingual.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline.
- Three years' experience in Information Security.
- Experience performing forensic log analysis and incident response.
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Proficiency with identification and mitigation of server or web application vulnerabilities.
- Experience performing computer forensics or incident response.
- Experience performing data analysis and reporting.
- Information security related certification such as Security+, GIAC, ISC2, or ISACA.
Time Base: Full-timePay Plan: 12/12Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm. CSU Classification Salary Range: $61,896 - $152,760 per year.
