Job Overview
- The Information Technology Assistant is responsible for maintaining communications and computer systems within the bank by managing and facilitating communication between bank personnel and the IT Officer and Consultants. The position also serves as the business liaison between internal departments, managers, vendors, and consultants on bank related technology initiatives and assists with various responsibilities within the Operations Department. The IT Assistant works closely with the IT Officer to assist with critical functions of the IT department.
Essential Functions
- Oversee technical issues from start to finish while working with relevant departments and external vendors.
- Follow up on outstanding cases/tickets in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly reports for the IT Steering Committee and Bank President.
- Move and connect hardware when necessary.
- Organize purchasing of small IT-related items: printers, monitors, software.
- Communicate known hardware and software needs to IT Officer and Consultants.
- Update policies and objectives concerning use of computers, software, and related devices under the direction of management.
- Provide assistance to IT Officer and Consultants when trouble shooting computer issues.
- Provide support during system upgrades, installations, conversions and other computer needs.
- Communicate regularly with executive management and all users of information services and systems.
- Assist in the implementation of IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision under the direction of management.
- Participate in IT Steering Committee Meetings.
- Gather and organize Bank materials for audits and exams.
- Communicate with vendors regarding renewal invoices for various IT expenditures.
- Assist with preparing annual property tax renditions regarding computer equipment.
- Work with accounting department and IT Consultants to prepare annual IT budget.
- Performs annual user access reviews to ensure permissions are accurate and to maintain system security.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills
- Experience with information systems or related fields is preferred.
- General knowledge of hardware and software products is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act requirements through initial and periodic training.
- Ability to work well with others and to multi-task.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
