The individual will be responsible for teaching courses within the following degree programs: Networking/Security, Programming, Cyber Security & Information Technology. Duties and Responsibilities The Faculty's role involves growing and shaping the workforce of tomorrow. Faculty provide appropriate and effective instruction in courses, coordinating hands-on activities, and overseeing computer lab environments. Monitoring student advancement and generating immersive, captivating course materials are key responsibilities. Leveraging deep expertise in their technological domains, IT instructors translate complex concepts into understandable explanations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal system performance. They frequently produce dynamic training resources, implement validation measures, and equip students with skills spanning Microsoft server administration, Linux technologies, cybersecurity principles, and more. Continual professional development and exploring online instructional platforms are also common aspects of an IT instructor's work. How you will succeed:
  • Create a student-centered learning environment that fosters student success through effective classroom facilitation. Ensures program and course outcomes are maintained to meet the required workplace skill levels for graduates. Delivers meaningful and engaging instruction throughout the duration of courses.
  • Remain knowledgeable about relevant techniques, technological advancements, and innovations applicable to the program. Incorporates engaging learning activities into courses.
  • Advise students in the Information Technology Department, participate in departmental, divisional, and University committee work, Dual Credit, and participate in recruitment and retention activities.
  • Active involvement in the Vincennes University assessment process, and familiarity with the NICE/NIST Framework, Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, and ACBSP accreditation requirements.
Required and Preferred Qualifications What we are looking for: Master's in Information Technology/Computer Science Discipline or related area; or MBA with Information Technology focus; or Master's with 18 Grad Hrs in Information Technology/Computer Science Discipline or related area, or Bachelor's in Information Technology/Computer Science or related area, plus a relevant Industry recognized certification or minimum of two years' documented related industry experience or an out of discipline Master's Degree with 5 plus years relevant Industry and a recognized certification.
