This federal job offers a rewarding and exciting career with benefits.2024 Salary Range: $86,962.00-$134,435.00/Year (includes locality)Posting Open: 12/2/2024Posting Close: 12/8/2024Who May Apply: U.S. CitizensRecruitment/Relocation incentives may or may not be authorized for this position.In this position you will serve as the Base Communications Security Manager (COMSEC) with responsibility for managing the base COMSEC Accounts, including the planning, analysis, acquisition, implementation of security, quality assurance, configuration, installation, integration, maintenance testing, operational integrity, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video format. - Serves as the Communications Security (COMSEC) Manager for all cryptographic activities including managing the Cryptographic Access Program (CAP); manages, audits and inventories base and tenant units COMSEC users material holdings at required intervals. Develops and implements communications security criteria and requirements for inclusion in mobility, contingency, and exercise plans for the warfighter. Conducts in depth analysis and oversight of the accountability of sensitive cryptographic materials and related COMSEC information. Oversees issuance of COM SEC materials. Develops and implements processes to maintain COMSEC inventories within the Key Management Infrastructure (KMl) program. Analyzes and prepares evaluation of written plans for emergency actions and responsible to ensure personnel and supported organizations are fully qualified in the execution of plans. Investigates, researches, and provides analytical analysis of COMSEC security incidents to determine the possibility of compromise to COMSEC materials and ensures documentation and reporting to appropriate channels.- Implements and manages the Air Force Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) program. Establishes and manages the KMI transition process and services fielding concepts to ensure an accurate and smooth migration from the legacy Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) to KMI. This includes providing a means for securely ordering,generating, producing, distributing, managing, and auditing cryptographic products (e.g., asymmetric key, symmetrickeys, manual cryptographic systems, and cryptographic applications). Provides secure and inter-operable cryptographic key generation, distribution, and management capabilities to support mission-critical systems, the Global Information Grid, and initiatives such as Cryptographic Modernization. - Host base or wing Emission Security (EMSEC) /TEMPEST Manager. Performs EMSEC countermeasures assessments on Base facilities that process classified information; conducts EMSEC inspections, reporting, and customer education for the installation (all assigned and subordinate organizations to include tenants). Determines the need for the identification and application of EMSEC countermeasures for equipment and/or systems in a facility that processes classified information. The TEMPEST Assessment is the tool used by the TEMPEST Manager to identify required countermeasures and specific RED/BLACK installation guidelines according to TEMPEST/EMSEC criteria and standards. Factors considered during the assessment include classification level and the volume of the information processed. Conducts on-site visual inspection and prepares report on construction or rehabilitation projects. Reviewsacceptance requests. Researches, reviews, develops, submits, and maintains an EMSEC operating headquarters and base EMSEC policy, guidance, and general information.1. Ability to implement COMSEC security policies and procedures to ensure protection of information transmitted to the installation, among organizations on the installation, and from the installation. 2. Ability to apply Information Technology (11) security principles, methods, and security products to protect and maintain the availability, integrity, confidentiality, and accountability of information system resources andinformation processed throughout a system's life cycle. 3. Ability to gather facts and use effective analytical and evaluative methods to assess information, plan the sequence of actions necessary, make sound decisions, and solve a variety of COMSEC I Cybersecurity related problems; and to analyze component interrelationships and evaluate network systems and computer applications from an operational perspective. 4. Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances related to COMSEC, with the ability to clearly articulate (oral/written) future requirements and recommendations at all levels: end users through senior leadership. 5. Knowledge of Cybersecurity laws, regulations, and guidelines related to securing personnel, facilities, and information, to include the requirements for handling, transporting, and protecting classified information andproper reporting of security incidents. 6. Knowledge of the principles, policies, and procedures involved in ensuring the security of communicationsserves and data; and knowledge in maintaining the communications environment on which it resides.Additional Position Requirements: 1. The employeemay be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may includeevenings, weekends, and/or holidays.2. The work requiresthe incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.3. This is a Drug TestingDesignated Position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.4. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on a military or commercial aircraft.5.
