The Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for managing one or more Information Technology projects within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and cost to deliver specified requirements and meet customer satisfaction. This position is full-time, onsite, and a contract renewed on a semi-annual basis.
What You'll Do
Prepares and maintains project plans, ensuring all project requirements and objectives are properly documented and budgets are managed
Tracks and reports project status, ensuring that risks are reviewed and mitigated, issues are escalated and resolved, and changes are documented and approved
Leads project staff and influences others on complex projects and assignments
Collaborates with internal and external constituents, including suppliers, to meet common goals and resolve conflicting issues
Applies subject matter expertise in the execution of assigned functional responsibilities; remains current with industry trends
Ensures department processes comply with governance requirements
Interprets, refines, and applies methods and procedures in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Information Technology industry standards, and best practices as defined by the client
Understands budgeting and estimating approaches in an IT realm. Accurately applies policies and practices for planning and administering a budget
What You'll Need
Required:
Understanding of IT infrastructure components and technical architecture
Ability to translate IT infrastructure concepts into actionable project plan items
Working knowledge of basic technology refresh projects
Knowledge of data center infrastructure and operations concepts, including:
Low voltage and fiber cabling
Network architecture and related equipment (e.g., switches, LAN, WAN, and domain controllers)
Security firewall equipment
Servers
Storage systems
Virtualization systems (e.g., VMware)
Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi surveys
Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in an area of specialty, or equivalent experience
Relevant training or certification in project management and/or a degree in a relevant technology
5+ years of Information Technology experience
3+ years of experience in managing small teams and projects
1+ years of experience in construction (ability to read, understand, and communicate using construction terms)
Desired:
Experience in leading or directing the work of project teams
Well-versed in project management techniques, processes, tools, and methodologies
Demonstrated experience utilizing project plans, issue logs, and risk/mitigation strategies
Familiarity with Project & Portfolio Management tools (e.g., Workfront, Jira) is encouraged
Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers and management; ability to work with all levels of the organization
Ability to read and understand construction diagrams to communicate effectively with construction teams
Physical Demands:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
