Details Client NameCommunity Hospital - Grand Junction Job TypeTravel OfferingNursing ProfessionRN SpecialtyOncology Job ID29786483 Job TitleInfusion Nurse, Oncology Weekly Pay$2506.0 Shift Details ShiftDay - 10x4 - 07AM Scheduled Hours40 Job Order Details Start Date12/10/2024 End Date03/11/2025 Duration13 Week(s) Job DescriptionJob Title: Oncology Nurse Job Specialty: Oncology Nurse Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday- Friday 7:30AM - 5:30PM Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week Experience: License: Current BLS Certifications: Must obtain OCN certification within one year of hire Must-Have: Associate's Degree in nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred) with at least one (1) year of oncology experience Job Description: - Administer chemotherapy IV fluids via peripherally inserted central catheters.- Identify, assess, and diagnose problems through patient assessment and interactions; and evaluate actual or potential patient health problems.- Develop and participate in educating patients, their families, or significant others about post-discharge care programs.- Initiate patient care meetings with the healthcare team to revise the plan of care as the patient's condition warrants.- Maintain a safe and therapeutic patient care environment.- Provide guidance and direction to members of the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.- Keep current on advances in nursing care by participating in educational programs.- Orient and educate new staff in nursing techniques and departmental procedures.- Provide and oversee direct patient care in accordance with established nursing protocol and physicians' orders.- Utilize knowledge of medications, procedures, infection control, and safety precautions; and initiate appropriate interventions in crisis situations.- Participate in total quality management to positively affect patient and system outcomes to improve care.- Document patient care in the healthcare record according to standards.- Direct and delegate care to other team members.- Provide safe, effective, appropriate, and comprehensive infusion services to oncology patients.- Provide education and follow-up care after patients have been released from chemotherapy.
