What's a typical day like as an Injection Mold Maintenance Tech?
If you enjoy troubleshooting and problem-solving on a daily basis, this role will keep you on your toes. As a key player on the team, you'll work with injection molding machines to keep everything running smoothly.
Your day will involve:
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Identifying machine malfunctions, isolating the failure mechanism, and fixing it in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible.
• Preventive Maintenance: Keeping machines in top shape by performing scheduled maintenance tasks and calibrations.
• Collaborating with the Team: Working closely with process technicians and engineers to install or remove process equipment as needed.
• Documenting Your Work: Keeping detailed logs of times, problems, and equipment performance. You'll also help track and report any issues to make sure nothing slips through the cracks.
• Equipment Inspections & Repairs: Disassembling equipment, inspecting components for defects, and performing repairs or replacements as necessary.
• Support Engineers: Assisting engineers in creating plans for test, calibration, and evaluation procedures to ensure precision and accuracy in all equipment.
• Occasional Travel: There may be occasional travel to other sites or vendor locations for additional support and training.
We're looking for someone with experience like this:
• Education: Associate's degree in a related field, military technical training, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: At least 10 years of related experience in injection molding or automation maintenance.
• Skills: Prior experience working with injection molding machines is essential, and automation technician experience with injection molding equipment is a big plus!
