Job Description :
SUMMARY
  • Assisting in the administration and management of the tooling process
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures all production demands for ink and printing assistance are fulfilled as a first priority.
  • Ensures all process and procedures are being followed by the department members
  • Backup for checking in Print Plates during their shift.
  • Coordinating repairs of Cutting Die and Print Plates
  • Be trained on basic Cutting Die and Print Plate repair in order to assist when needed.
  • Works as a liaison between Customer Service and Tooling Department members when it comes to checking tooling for specific issues
  • Works as a liaison with Quality Department to investigate tooling related Customer complaints.
  • Makes sure next shift is set up for the day in terms of ink and tooling related needs.
  • Ensures Ink is being recycled, combined to reduce overall inventory when possible. Ensure Ink pricing and usage monthly is reported
  • Be involved with New Items and Trials when needed. Help troubleshoot and create Recipe Cards to ensure future orders run more smoothly. Coordinates this with the Converting Supervisors, Customer Service and Scheduling.
  • Works alongside the Operators. Help pull tooling for orders when needed. Perform daily checks on red tagged tooling to ensure they are repaired quickly.
  • Works alongside the Expeditors especially when they are being utilized for other duties. Makes periodic checks at machine centers to ensure quality tooling has been delivered. Performs periodic checks on tooling after it runs.
  • Ensures Band Type is not being discarded by the operators. Ensures proper levels of type at every machine.
  • Ensures Red Tag and Orange Tape procedures are being followed.
  • Investigates and records in a spreadsheet print plate and cutting die damage including shift/machine/date in order to implement corrective action and or retraining when needed.
  • Regularly works on purge lists to get rid of old tooling by reporting issues
  • Works on special projects as assigned by Management.
  • Ensures all Tooling Department areas are kept clean daily.
  • Assigns cleaning duties and or special projects across shifts based on workloads, vacations and other determining factors.
  • Carries out and supports any additional needs or instructions given by Manager
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED.
Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following: Prior work experience in the corrugated industry LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
  • Able to apply concepts of high school math.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee may occasionally be required to sit.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
