Summary of Position:

Act as a liaison between the company and the customer, working directly with the customer's management personnel and staff. Manufacture ink and maintains the ink room; designs and maintains customer records; orders, forecasts and maintains inventory. Responsible for providing a professional level of ink room services to customers, which includes but is not limited to matching color, creating formulas, batching and weigh up, maintaining adequate levels of inventory, billing, and providing any other ink related services deemed necessary to customers success.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work and communicate well with co-workers, supervisors and customer personnel.

Use spectrophotometer equipment and software to measure color, prior to submission to customer.

Create master ink formulas for upcoming print jobs. (ISI# ).

Generate batch tickets for production. (ISI # )

Weigh, mix and Q.C. batches. (ISI# )

Log and track ink usage and open and close jobs at press side. (ISI# ).

Use spectrophotometer equipment and software to measure color, prior to submission to customer.

Adjust unapproved color(s) in a reasonable time frame.

Use spectrophotometer equipment and software to QC batches vs. master wet samples.

Create and enter master formulas into formula database.

Compile neat and professional color match proof presentations (ISI# ).

Adjust ink properties for run-ability and post press requirements.

Estimate amount(s) of ink(s) needed on a job-by-job basis.

Log and communicate information/issues to co-workers and manager.

Participate in pre-job planning with lab/customer.

Train and mentor co-workers.

Understanding of press chemistry and basic offset mechanics.

Analyze and troubleshoot situations involving press/ink.

Adjust unapproved color(s) in an expedient time frame.

Clearly communicate specific needs/issues/criteria with labs, sales main plant.

Introduce and expand on new products to help improve customer experience

Help to design, measure and assess the attributes of the newer products.

Ask the customer questions regarding outside customers expectations and requirements for tricky jobs.

Communicate these requests to the labs for any product enhancement and modification suggestions.

Keep up on the newest trends regarding product development and refinements to applicable product

lines.
