POSITION SUMMARY: To provide mobility services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. Assists in positioning, ambulation, and movement of patients. This position assists physical therapists in providing healthcare (ambulation) services in an inpatient setting. # EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. CNA, Medical Assistant, or Physical Therapy Student, preferred. # EXPERIENCE: Experience working in an inpatient/acute care healthcare setting. Patient mobility: 2 years (Preferred). Eastern Connecticut Health Network reserves the right to change or assign other duties and responsibilities to this position # Provides safe patient mobilization and transfer assistance using approved assistive devices and procedures in the acute hospital setting as directed by a licensed physical therapist. Monitors vital signs before and after treatment and notifies patient#s nurse of any significant change in vitals. Demonstrates use of patient transfer equipment/device use, patient mobility techniques, and body mechanics in a safe manner. Reports the patient#s nurse any injuries or adverse reactions during or after treatment. Documents and communicates completion of mobility in the electronic medical record for each patient. Performs other duties as assigned.
