Job Location : Tulsa,OK, USA
Leads and conducts advanced inspection duties and assignments for the Inspection Department under minimal supervision. May direct or lead the work of others and establish policy and practice. Acts as liaison with other departments within the refinery.
Job DutiesMay also perform other duties, including:
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.
ExperienceA minimum of 10 years of on-the-job experience is required which may include significant time spent as an NDE Technician, Inspector, or in Maintenance. Experience should include aspects of design, construction, repairs, inspection, or operations of pressure vessels, piping, tanks, and a working familiarity with welding processes.
Preferred Experience:
Experience using an RBI focused Inspection Database Management System (IDMS) is preferred.
Experience in a Supervisory role is preferred.
Education LevelA minimum of a BachelorAAAs Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, is required.
Required SkillsAbility to lead and direct the work of other associates. Advanced knowledge of inspection methods and ability to apply this knowledge as it pertains to the company. Certifications in API-510, API-570, API-653, AWS CWI and ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II in RT, UT, MT, PT, VT may be required depending on location. Computer program familiarity with MS Office suite and data management programs in use within Inspection Department. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, advanced reading and writing skills, and with the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
Supervisory/Managerial ResponsibilityMay be responsible for the supervision of contracted Inspectors and Technicians.
Work ConditionsOffice and field based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, exposure to the risk of electrical shock, and working in confined spaces. Subject to all temperatures, weather, and varying road conditions.
Physical RequirementsJob conditions require standing, walking, sitting ,twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspection, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 40lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 40lbs, climbing up to 180ft, perceiving color differences, ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted), and strenuous physical activity.
