Inspector - Davis & Floyd : Job Details

Davis & Floyd is currently looking for an experienced and motivated Inspector to join our Beaufort, SC team. In this role, the ideal candidate will work collaboratively with skilled professionals on a variety of projects, including roadway, drainage, utility, and civil site development.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:

• Responsible for necessary inspection services for earthwork and base, asphalt, foundations, concrete, structures, erosion, utility, civil site development, and other construction related items
• Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues and client representatives
• Ensure that all new construction is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, special provisions, standard drawings, and approved materials lists
• Ensure that all construction projects are properly inspected
• Prepare daily inspection and contractor performance reports
• Perform field checks on all preliminary plans to assure completeness
• Ensure that design and construction is in accordance with the client's concerns and permit requirements
• Monitor contractor's schedule
• Compile closing packages
• Record as-built revisions and review with contractor
• Adheres to all safety guidelines required of the job

Qualifications:

• 0-9 years of experience preferred
• SCDOT project experience preferred
• Civil Site Development experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Minimal lifting, bending, and standing required
• Certifications preferred:
  • American Concrete Institute Field Technician - Grade 1 (ACI)
  • SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician (ART)
  • SCDOT Portland Cement Concrete Field Technician
  • SCDOT Foundations Technician
  • SCDOT Earthwork, Drainage & Base Inspector
  • SCDHEC Certified Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control Inspector
