Summary:River Point Farms is seeking a hardworking and reliable
Inspector to join our onion processing team. The Inspector examines raw materials received to ensure it is correct and suitable for use.Responsibilities:
- Confirm the equipment is properly sanitized.
- Fully inspect every onion for defects: blow damage, miscuts, size issues, rot/decay, excessive peel, core, etc.
- Repair all defects or discard the onion.
- Direct onions into the proper size areas.
- Coordinate the product flow with the toppers and verify sufficient supply of topped onions.
- Monitor the sanitizing water to ensure proper water flow.
- Report all raw product issues to management. Champion a safety culture by keeping current with all safety devices and emergency shutdown procedures and attending all trainings; verify all devices are functioning at all times including lockout-tagout procedures
Qualifications:
- Previous related experience desired.
- Effective time management, attention to detail, and decision-making skills.
- Good interpersonal skills. Be able to effectively communicate to all personnel including management.
- Adherence to all PPE requirements as well as facility safety rules and regulations.
- Be able to meet the physical requirements of the role: work involves but is not limited to heavy lifting, bending, kneeling and twisting throughout work period. Stepping up, stepping down and kneeling required. Occasional long-term walking required. Wrist, hand, and finger movement that encompasses squeezing, rotating, and bending. Arm movement encompasses extension, raising and bending. Neck movement encompasses raising, rotating, forward, backward, and side to side.
