If you'd like to join a cutting-edge technology company, in a fun and fast paced environment, please submit your applicationJOB TITLE: Installation TechnicianSUMMARY: GeoLinks Installation Technicians are essential team members responsible for multiple customer site visits daily. These visits encompass site surveys, service installations, service repairs, quality assurance, and educating customers on the services we provide. Installation Technicians report to their assigned depot location daily, typically working from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of overtime or double-time hours as assigned by a Supervisor when needed. Rotating weekend or on-call work may be assigned based on regional needs.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TOO ARE:
- Timely departure for assigned work routes with the goal of arriving at each work assignment at the start of the designed arrival window. .
- Conducting site surveys, optimizing equipment placement for optimal signal reception, and documenting findings with detailed photographs and written summaries.
- Providing service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
- Coordinating workflow to adhere to schedules.
- Managing on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks.
- Diagnosing errors or technical issues and determining effective solutions.
- Generating timely and comprehensive service reports.
- Documenting processes and actions taken during each site visit.
- Safely operating vehicles and utilizing field automation systems.
- Adhering to all company field procedures and protocols ensuring job site safety.
- Collaborating with the remote technical team and sharing information across the organization.
- Understanding customer requirements and making appropriate recommendations and briefings.
- Establishing positive relationships with customers.
- Conducting Vehicle Inventory and Maintenance tasks when assigned.
- Assisting Depot Staff with inventory, shipment acceptance, stocking, and cleanliness items.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Must be available for overtime, as this position requires 40+ hours per week.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Hiking, climbing, kneeling, bending.
- Lifting or hoisting objects weighing over 70 lbs.
- Crawling into tight spaces.
- Proficient in outdoor work, confidently using ladders and taking advantage of provided rooftop access.
- Proficiency in the use and operation of various hand tools.
ATTIRE:
- GeoLinks Installation Technicians are expected to wear construction attire, including:
- Work pants or jeans.
- Sturdy sole construction boots for roof hazard protection.
- Company-provided shirt and/or identification badge.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Installation Technician encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Installation Technicians will travel to and from work sites utilizing company assigned vehicles. While performing the duties of this position,, the Installation Technician will regularly work in outside weather conditions and sunlight. Installation Technicians frequently work in commercial and residential locations. Installation Technicians may be exposed to wet, humid, dusty, and/or damp conditions, as well as vibration. The Installation Technician occasionally works at high elevations with the use of a ladder, and in enclosed, confined areas while completing cabling installation. While wearing appropriate safety gear, the Installation Technicians are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The Installation Technician must be able to walk over different types of terrain and in a variety of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate in the office setting and variable in the field. When required and under extreme weather conditions, alternative types of transportation may be necessary (i.e. boat, ferries, off road vehicles, or snow mobiles) to reach job sites. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED preferred; college or technical/vocational school experience is a plus.
- Cable and Low Voltage industry experience is advantageous.
