About the job Installation Technician Fire Alarm Installation TechnicianAs a Fire Alarm Technician, you help commercial buildings fulfill their code requirements for fire protection by installing and servicing their alarm systems. You conduct thorough acceptance tests of newly installed or retrofitted fire alarm systems. You install all materials associated with alarm systems, such as control panels, modules, conduits, wires, and intrusion switches. You take pride in doing quality work.With our clients' best interests in mind, you upsell products and services. During both regular business hours and during off-hours when on-call, you respond to system emergencies. You are diligent about keeping paperwork and reports up to date. Your job is both technical and interactive as you use your relationship-building skills to build a good rapport with clients. You get great satisfaction out of using your specialized skills to help save lives in your community!Qualifications:
- Experience in troubleshooting
- Experience in the programming of low voltage systems
- Ability to install fire alarm systems, identify major issues, and complete necessary programming
- Thorough working knowledge of NFPA 72 regulations, electrical codes, OSHA requirements, general work safety procedures, and other applicable regulations
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to crawl up ladders and work in unusual conditions
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Ability and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
- Excellent customer service skills
